Title: Perfect
Prompt: #24 Silver from

Author: veronicasleeps
Rating:PG-15
Characters/Pairings:Neal/Peter/Elizabeth
Word count: 300
Warnings/Spoilers: none
Summary: It's Christmas. Neal wants it to be perfect.
Notes: I wish you a lovely Holiday time.
+
Neal is alone in the darkness of the living room, staring up at the large Christmas tree. Small silver ornaments glitter softly where faint light from the street hits them and Neal can’t make himself go to bed, he feels as though he needs to be there, needs to be watching over the tree so it will still look the way it does now come morning.
After all, it’s the first Christmas tree that he has decorated in a long time.
“It has to be perfect,” he whispers into the quiet.
He startles when arms encircle him from behind and Peter answers, “It is.”
+
“They’re beautiful, Neal.” Elizabeth can hardly tear her eyes away from the silver earrings that Neal has given her. They look as though they must have cost a fortune.
She doesn’t say, “You didn’t have to,” and not “I can’t possibly take them,” even though she knows that Neal can’t possibly make enough money at the bureau to buy things like these for her; it’s the look in his eyes, pleased and comfortable, so incredibly different from the tense worry of the last few days that keeps her from even entertaining the idea of rejecting the gift.
+
Peter watches Elizabeth as she covers Neal in sparkling silver stars – edible, made from sugar and chocolate- and enjoys the smile on her lips and the blush on her cheeks when she kisses them off his skin.
He also enjoys licking the El-and-Neal flavored chocolate from her sticky mouth, and the sound of Neal moaning between them, eyes closed and obviously lost in that place between tired and aroused where the evening can still go one way or the other.
Peter knows which way it’ll go. He has plans.
It will be the perfect end for the perfect Christmas.
