Title: Silk
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Alex
Word count: 100
Summary: This is what she was born to do. (An AU take on what Alex could use her skills for.

Like a spider, Alex falls from the ceiling of the large tent, and the only thing that will keep her from plunging to death is the silk fabric that glides through her fingers.

She stops her free fall with a twist of her body, bouncing up once, twice, and then simply hangs a meter above the floor.

Her heart beats fast and her breath goes even faster, and the she feels dizzy with excitement when the audience claps and calls for an encore.

This is what she was born to do; the Circus is her life, and Alex loves it.

Title: Mr. Moon
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Hughes
Word count: 100
Summary: Hughes has a conversation with his nephew.

“Uncle Reese?" There’s a tug on Hughes trousers, and when he looks down, his seven year old nephew looks up at him with that cheeky grin that promises mayhem, and that makes Hughes -not really a family man- more uncomfortable than the thought of Caffrey let loose on Manhattan.

Nevertheless, he smiles at him, awkwardly, and fakes interest. “Yes, Michael?”

The grin grows wider, and even more mischievous, even if that should by all means be impossible.

“Your head,” Michael say, and tilts his own, “it looks like the Moon.”

Hughes blinks, and then laughs.

That was unexpected.

Title: Like Being Eaten
Rating: PG-15
Characters/Pairings: Neal(/Alex)
Word count: 123
Summary: Neal has a fantasy.

Neal imagines Alex’s eyes on him, when he wraps himself into the cocoon of his blankets.

She stands at the foot of the bed, Neal fantasizes, simply observing Neal body wrapped in the silk sheet and complete covered by it, and the candle fire makes her eyes glint and her skin glow.

Those are hungry eyes, like the eyes of a spider that is stalking its dinner, and even just imagining Alex stalking slowly forward, creeping closer, closer to the bed and closer to Neal, and taking what she wants from him, makes him hot.

“Don’t struggle now,” Pretend-Alex says, “be still, be calm, be quiet now.”

And he is, because following orders is easy, and it means he doesn't have to think.

Title: A proposition
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Neal, Mozzie
Word count: 203
Summary: Neal meets a strange man.

"So you're a thief?"

Neal is fifteen, and he has just met this very funny man who wears thick glasses and strange clothes and looks at him in a way that nobody had ever looked at Neal, like he's someone worth studying, and like he isn't just some poor child that has just tried to steal the man's wallet.

"I- I guess I am," Neal straightens and pushes up his chin. He doesn't apologize for doing what he needs to survive. "not much work for someone like me, you know?"

The other man looks thoughtful, and taps his chin with a pencil that he has in his hands for whatever reason. He furrows his brow, and calls for a waitress.

They are in a small diner; after catching Neal with his hands in the other man's pockets, he had put a hand on Neal's shoulder and pushed him in there, never saying a word until they settled down in a booth.

The man asks the waitress for two coffees and turns back to Neal, fiddling with the pencil. "You can call me Mozzie," he says, and scribbles something on a napkin he pulls from his coat pocket. "I have a proposition for you."

Title: A Pirate's Life
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Neal/Peter/Elizabeth
Word count: 280
Summary: It's Halloween. Peter is not amused.

“Didn’t you ever want to be a pirate, Peter?”

Neal is having way too much fun, Peter thinks and sends him a dark look.

It sends Neal into giggles. Peter is not amused.

“I fail to see the point in dressing up in this ridiculous outfit, simply because you feel it’s in the spirit of Halloween.” He says, and tugs uncomfortably on the collar of the loose fitting black poet’s shirt. It doesn’t help, it still exposes essentially his entire chest.

Elizabeth comes in at that moment and slaps away his fiddling hands. “Stop that,” she says, and drapes the folds of fabric the way that they were before. “You have to stand up straight, Peter.”
She grins. “Pirates are proud people.”

Peter frowns, but when Elizabeth steers him to the full size mirror and wraps her arms around him even he can’t keep in a little smile.

“Is that so?” he asks, and pulls her in front of him; he meets her eyes in the mirror. “Should they feel pride, then? With all that pillaging and plundering, the commandeering and the stealing of young maidens?”

Elizabeth turns around and kisses him on the lips. “There’s no need for you to steal young maidens, tonight. So you can be a proud pirate.”

Neal steps behind Peter, now also dressed as a pirate, and catches Elizabeth’s hand in his to tug her into his own arms.

“How can we not be proud, when we have this young fair maiden with us?”

Elizabeth laughs, delightedly, and takes both of her men by their arm.

They have a party to go to, and when they get home, she’ll have a treat for them.
